One of WordPress plug-in “SimilarPosts”

   WordPress has a lot of plug-ins. I’m interested in one of them named “SimilarPosts”. It automatically searches and displays some related posts in my blog. Last night, I made the Japanese localization of the plug-in complete.

   “SimilarPosts” had the pot file but it did not work very well, and its preparation for localization was not completed, so I had a little bit difficulty. My number one problem is that I really don’t understand ‘php’ and ‘gettext’. 😉
   I lost my drive gradually because I had to learn a lot about them. But I asked Rob who is this plug-in’s author, “Do you still want the files though they are not complete?”, he replied “yes”. Then I felt uplifted again. Such a tractor thing is necessary for every motivation.

   When I finished SimilarPosts’s localization, I still had some English parts in it because it worked by PostPluginLibrary’s assist. As it made me sick, I ended up localizing PostPluginLibrary. This was more difficult because its condition was more …… well, it’s all in the past now. 🙂

   I haven’t uploaded the localization file at my Japanese blog yet. The reason is my mo file doesn’t work in the plug-in (version 2.6.2.0) until Rob renews the files. Perhaps, I hope Rob bundles it to the next zip.

Update #8.

Yesterday, we had important updates, e.g. MS’s KB980182 and Java SE 6 update19.
I applied the patches to my server manually, so I used this opportunity to the server update.

The time of cherry blossoms in this year.

   This year’s cherry blossoms have become in full bloom on this weekend. There is very very small lovely shrine I haven’t noticed on my way home to or from work. Today, the cherry blossoms in full bloom color the small shrine in white-pink light.

   Nowadays, cherry blossoms for us, it is Someiyoshino(染井吉野) obviously. But it’s taken only 150 years since its appearance. We haven’t a lot of old trees of Someiyoshino. It makes all areas white-pink because flowers become full-bloomed before leaves go out. They look like haze by a distant view.

   In general, the smell of cherry blossoms is weak. It is a big difference between them and Japanese plum blossoms that are not distinguished easily from a distance. Personally, I prefer Japanese plum blossoms. That smell is comfortable for me.

   However, the utility pole in this picture is terrible and obstructive. ;-}

Origami animals.

   Since last autumn, I’ve made some kind of paper animals by a little necessity. Several years earlier, if I wanted to do so, I should have learned them from someone, looked for books, or thought how to make them by myself. But these convenient days, I can find a lot of kinds on the net.

   Among them, I used these six. Can you tell me what they are? Great? Actually, the center of them is a cat. But most of my friends said it’s a dog. :-p

   They are wonderful, aren’t they? They are not Japanese traditional origami but new ones which someone invented. We only sighed when looking the highest level origami, but these six are great in another way because even an ordinary elementary school child can make them.

   The size of paper is the same as the rabbit and the elephant. So, the completion became a biiiiiiiiiig rabbit and a smaaaaaaaaaall elephant.

   AS 落照の獄 was originally divided into eight chapters and had 80 pages volume on the magazine, I tried to translate each two pages at a time. And now, I reconstruct its format.

Spring snow.

    We had a lot of snow in the afternoon on 10th of March. But it disappeared by next afternoon because it was the spring snow.
   However, Mt.Hiko was still covered with snow at that time. It is very suitable for it because it has been worshiped as a divine mountain since long long ago.
   I’d like to take its picture covered with snow for a long time. Though it’s very difficult for me, I challenged it on 11th of March on my way home.
   I’ll show you it. How do you think? Nice or not?

Japanese plum blossoms(梅花).

ume.jpg   The weekend before last, in my garden, Japanese plum blossoms(梅の花) that started opening up at one burst had to stay at a standstill due to the cold at the beginning of last week, but are in bloom today by a few days’ warmth.
   All plants are great. Because they cannot move only a step from the point taken root. This tree is very very old and might have experienced a terrible weather change since it was very young, however, it is still in bloom when spring comes, and also bears a lot of fruits in the rainy season(梅雨).

A tip for “WordPress”
   At very first time, uploading an image file, you have an error.
   Because the server doesn’t have a directory such as “/wp/wp-content/uploads” and cannot create it automatically.
   So, you need to make the directory manually.

The installation of “WordPress”.

As you know, I use MT5 on my server.
I’m almost satisfied with this environment and it’s too boring to change it. But recently, due to a virus fuss about like “Gambler”, I’d like to try “SFTP” or “FTPS”. One of contributors in “TODOS” wrote about “TOYPARK”, so I registered there immediately. I don’t have known about being able to use it there yet though I asked them for it.

As I have nothing to do until having the reply, I installed “WordPress” which I’m also interested in lately. The contributor mentioned this, too.

First, I downloaded a wordpress-2.9.2-ja.zip, and did my work according to http://sample.toypark.in/wp/archives/17.

Second, about the file “wp-config-sample.php” I rewrote and saved, with the characterset UTF8.

Third, rename “wp-config-sample.php” to “wp-config.php” and upload all “WordPress” files to http://o6asan.toypark.in/wp/.

Addition:
We can use “phpMyAdmin” on the TOYPARK　server.
When we access http://www.toypark.in/phpmyadmin/, we will have a login screen.
User name : MySQL ID (4digits)  Pass phrase : Toypark’s login passphrase
