My handwriting.

   Nowadays, when I write something, I usually use a digital equipment like a computer. I don’t hand-write very often. How is your case?

   A few people visit my blog by key-wording ‘japanese writing style’, ‘manuscript japanese’ or something. What do they want to know really? Though I have no idea about it, I’ve decided the following thing.

   Japanese traditionally respect the person who can write a good hand. I do NOT have a good hand. But, for visitors’ convenient, I will post my handwriting as the images. Maybe this post will satisfy a few visitors on some level.

   One of the images I wrote vertically, the other I did horizontally. The material of the handwriting is from the original of this translation.

   The sheet is a piece of the notebook. When I hand-write something, I usually use a ball-point pen or a pencil. I like a fountain pen and an ink brush, but I don’t use them very often. The sheet has horizontal ruled lines. When I write vertically, I rotate the paper 90 degrees. Usually Japanese write something, we use at least Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. In some cases, we additionally use Alphabet.

   Now, I’ll show you my handwriting. Voilà!!

Ray Bradbury passed away.

   Ray Bradbury passed away at the age of 91.

   The most famous his works are probably ‘Fahrenheit 451 (華氏451度)’ and ‘The Martian Chronicles (火星年代記)’, I think. But my favorites were the short stories ‘R Is for Rocket (ウは宇宙船のウ)’, ‘The October Country (10月はたそがれの国)’ and ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes (何かが道をやってくる), when I was young. I heard of his death, which will make me read his works again.

   “Kirin tidings by Shinchōsha” is notification of their progress. So, they sometimes add new one. When I find it, I’ll translate it and add to the page.

   Ono Fuyumi’s spectacular fantasy “Juuni Kokuki” comes back again!

    • “Demon’s Child (魔性の子)” by a new edition.
    • “Shadow of the Moon, Sea of the Shadow (月の影 影の海)” – set of 2 books – in Shinchōsha paperbacks.

My calendar-#2.

   As you guys probably noticed, my blog calendar did not display the date of posts since my having upgraded PHP 5.3.x to PHP 5.4.x. I always used the same type calendar when I had built my blog with Movable Type 4.x. I did not change it when I became to use WordPress. But now, I have to quit to use it? Oh, my.

   Though I asked for the plugin author to fix this issue, I do not have any reply until now. I gave up to use my old calendar, and sought for the similar calendar i.e. one-line calendar. And I found. Voila!!

That is the question.

   I’m very confused these days. What? It’s about spam comments on /. This is a spam or not, that is the question. ;P

   Yesterday, I had a comment, and it was difficult to determine whether the comment was a spam or not. Though I installed Akismet, it reported it was not a spam and I also felt it wasn’t a spam from its contents. But when I examined it, it seemed a spam.

   Very confused.

   I determined to install a CAPTCHA Code feature for my comment form on /. I chose the plugin ‘SI Captcha Options’.　Does it make a difference?
