Jetpack gives a good thing but it is too much for me.

I found a link that is something like “hxxps://i2.wp.com/test.o6asan.com/img/xxxxx.jpg?ssl=1” on the WordPress access log. I went to the page for checking the link. Yes, it was there. But, I couldn’t find such a link from the editor on my WordPress Dashboard. I could see the link “hxxps://test.o6asan.com/lmg/xxxxx.jpg”, though.

I was googling and realized Photon, this is one of Jetpack modules, gave this. I cannot remember I enabled Photon, but it was included in Jetpack modules activated. The features of Jetpack by WordPress.com are progressing forward very much lately. And recently, I was having a poor connection between my sites and WordPress.com, so I did disconnect my site from WordPress.com and reconnect. Maybe at that time, Photon might have been activated.

After deactivating Photon, I see the link like “hxxps://i2.wp.com/test.o6asan.com/img/xxxxx.jpg?ssl=1” has gone. The page for deactivating Jetpack modules is a bit difficult place to find. So, I’ll write down HowTo.

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Click the link “Settings”.
  3. Go to the bottom of the page and click “Debug”.
  4. Go to the bottom of the page and click “Access the full list of Jetpack modules available on your site.”.
  5. Find Photon and mouse it over. You can see the link “Deactivate”, and then click it.

   That’s it.

There is one thing I am dissatisfied with. That is the link “hxxps://i2.wp.com/test.o6asan.com/lmg/xxxxx.jpg?ssl=1” is still alive. It means the image file xxxxx.jpg still exist in a strage on i2.wp.com. I don’t know how to delete the file. If I disconnect my site from WordPress.com and delete my WordPress.com account completely, the files on i2.wp.com might be deleted. But, I don’t know for certain.
